Santa brings cheer to Addington Hospital
Father Christmas brought fun, laughter, toys and 21 news wheelchairs to Addington Hospital in KZN.
|||Durban - In a densely populated children's ward, MP Omie Singh, ANC members of the Gedleyihlekisa Zone, Addington Hospital CEO, Dr Mthetheleli Ndlangisa and hospital staff along with Santa as he brought Christmas cheer to the children of Addington Hospital on Thursday.
When the group approached a child's bed, with a toy and a goodie bag in hand, their faces lit up.
However, it wasn't just the children and their parents who were happy, the nurses could not contain their joy
After Santamade his rounds, Singh took the time to thank the nurses for the time hard work they put in during 2015.
Then, the members of Gedleyihlekisa Zone joined forces with CV Projects and provided the hospital with 21 wheelchairs to transport patients within the hospital.
The new wheelchairs can be identified by their red and black design and sponsor tags stuck on the back.
“After finding out there was a shortage of wheelchairs at the hospital, together with CV Projects we closed that gap with the 21 wheelchairs.
“And I call on business through the media. To make an effort, to give back wherever there is a need and help institutions like the hospitals, the schools in your community, the clinics in your community, the police station in your community.”
He also urged business owners to give a little this Christmas and to ask themselves one question, “Where can we help?”
