Mabunda appointed Ezemvelo boss
A new dawning for KZN Wildlife as former SANParks CEO is appointed Ezemvelo's new head.
|||Durban - Former chief executive of South African National Parks (SANParks), Dr David Mabunda, has been appointed head of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife.
Spokesman, Musa Mntambo, confirmed that Mabunda would be at the helm on a three-year contract.
This comes a year after he was appointed interim chief executive after the suspension of Dr Bandile Mkhize amid allegations of a failed attempt at rolling out a new staff management and payment structure.
Speaking to the media in October, board chairman, Comfort Ngidi, revealed that Mkhize was paid out a year’s salary to bow out.
At the same event, Mabunda set out his turnaround strategy which included creating stability and growing Ezemvelo’s revenue and strengthening stewardship.
