YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. In Armenia, 19,100 people died from January to September 2024, a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to data published by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia./pp
More than half of the deaths (53.1% or 10,132 people) were due to diseases of the circulatory system, a 6.1% increase compared to the first nine months of 2023./pp
The second leading cause of death was neoplasms (20.6% or 3,937 people, a 2.6% increase)./pp
Other causes of death included respiratory diseases (9.3% or 1,778 people, an increase of 12.4%), diseases of the digestive system (5.2% or 996 people, an increase of 14.2%), accidents and poisoning (4.2% or 799 people, a decrease of 1.7%), diseases of the endocrine system (1.8% or 342 people, an increase of 4%), and infectious diseases (0.9% or 177 people, an increase of 67%). -0-/pp nbsp;/p
