The Toronto Star offered this heartwarming welcome to Canada's first group of Syrian refugees
At 9:15 p.m. Thursday night, the first plane carrying Syrian refugees will arrive in Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offered a warm welcome to the newcomers on Twitter on Wednesday — but the Toronto Star took the well-wishes one step further, dedicating its entire front page to genial greetings:

"You're with family now," the Star wrote. "You'll find the place a little bigger than Damascus or Aleppo, and a whole lot chillier. But friendly for all that." That's certainly a departure from various American politicians' decidedly hostile reactions to the idea of re-settling Syrian refugees, so depending on your point of view, perhaps the U.S. could stand to take after its neighbors to the north.
