Armenia to take €236 million in loan from EIB for Sisian-Kajaran road construction

YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. The Armenian government approved a loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) on Thursday, whereby the country will be provided with with €236 million for the construction of 60 km of the Sisian-Kajaran road./pp
According to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, this road, which is part of the ’North-South’ interstate highway, will shorten the route by 54 km and increase the average speed from 50 km/h to 100 km/h. As a result, travel time will be reduced by an hour and a half./pp
In addition, green bridges will be built for the first time, designed to allow animal migration without obstruction. -0-/p
