Rajputana Customs Creates Flat-track version of the Harley-Davidson X440
Harley-Davidson is bringing excitement to the 2024 India Bike Week (IBW) with the Harley-Davidson X440, a custom flat-track edition of its X440 motorcycle, modified by the renowned Rajputana Customs. This collaboration aims to highlight Harley’s growing focus on flat-track racing, a genre with deep roots in the brand’s American heritage.
This year’s IBW, taking place in Vagator, Goa, on December 6-7, will feature a dedicated flat-track event where the custom-built X440 will be showcased in action.
Harley-Davidson X440 Flat Track Edition
The Harley-Davidson X440, initially launched in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp, was introduced as an entry-level motorcycle catering to the Indian market. The custom version by Rajputana Customs has been specially adapted for the flat-track race at IBW, sporting modifications that align with the rugged and unique requirements of this racing format. Rajputana Customs, known for creating bespoke, handcrafted motorcycles, has likely made structural adjustments to the X440 to handle the rigorous demands of flat-track racing, including tweaks for enhanced stability and handling on dirt surfaces.
The flat-track event is one of several highlights planned for IBW 2024, with other competitions like the Dirt Drag—a 200-meter race with obstacles—and the Rat Race, a two-wheeled autocross-inspired competition, also scheduled. Participants in the flat-track event will have the chance to compete for a prize pool of INR 10 lakh, offering significant incentive and adding to the festival’s competitive edge.
India Bike Week, in its eleventh edition, aims to bring together motorcycling enthusiasts from across the country under the theme “Everyone as One,” celebrating the inclusivity and diversity of the biking community in India. Harley-Davidson’s participation and the Rajputana-customized X440 add a unique touch to the festival’s lineup, underscoring the brand’s commitment to engaging with India’s dynamic motorcycle culture

The Harley-Davidson X440 is powered by a 440cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, offering around 27 horsepower and 38 Nm of torque. The engine’s performance, combined with a 6-speed transmission, delivers a responsive and smooth ride. Designed with a focus on durability, the X440 features a robust tubular steel frame and advanced suspension components, including a 43mm upside-down front fork and dual rear shock absorbers, allowing it to handle varied terrain with ease.
In terms of features, the X440 integrates modern technology, with a digital TFT display that offers Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to access notifications and navigation. Dual-channel ABS, disc brakes, and advanced traction control enhance the bike’s safety profile, while its design captures Harley-Davidson’s iconic styling with a touch of sportiness, tailored for the Indian market.
