Mohan Babu’s family dispute escalates with new charges, court involvement and more
Veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu is currently in news due to his family feud. Recently, the actor is facing serious charges following an alleged attack on a video journalist in Hyderabad. On Thursday, the police booked Mohan Babu for an attempt to murder charge after the incident. The complaint was filed by the 35-year-old journalist, who had earlier reported the incident. A case was initially filed under Section 118 (1) for voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or substances. Now, the charges have been altered to Section 109 (attempt to murder) based on the journalist's statement.
Mohan Babu family dispute escalates
According to News18, the journalist went to Mohan Babu's Jalpally residence on December 10 to report the family dispute involving the actor and his younger son, Manoj. During the shoot, the actor allegedly confronted him and other journalists after he lost his cool. The journalist stated that Mohan Babu snatched his microphone and attacked him with it and also used abusive language. The entire incident caused an injury to the reporter's head.
The cops have notified Mohan Babu, his elder son Vishnu, and Manoj under Section 126 for their involvement in the family dispute. The family has been told to appear before the Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, G Sudheer Babu. The family even approached the Telangana High Court and they got an exemption from appearance until December 24.
Mohna's son Manoj appeared before the commissioner on Wednesday and provided a bond of Rs one lakh after he gave his statement. The commissioner suggested that the family settle their differences soon, without escalating the issue to a law and order problem. Manoj agreed with the same and promised to not engage in actions that might cause problems.
Well, Mohan Babu on December 9 filed a police complaint accusing Manoj and his wife tried to take his Jalpally residence forcefully. Manoj clarified that his issue was not about property, but about self-respect and the safety of his wife and children.
