Alexander McQueen is to make a guest appearance on the London Fashion Week schedule in February, it was announced today.

Providing momentary delight to British fans of the brand who will be excited to witness Sarah Burton continue to refresh the iconic label on home turf, the house's move from Paris - where they present biannually - will be for one season only.

Also back at London Fashion Week next season is Mulberry, who dropped off the schedule during the autumn/winter 2014 showcase season after the departure of creative director Emma Hill.

Now under the charge of Johnny Coca, formerly accessories design director at Céline, Mulberry hopes to continue to build upon recovering sales with a show with which it hopes to emphasise “Britishness” and its “heritage in leather".

Accessory designer Charlotte Olympia has also unveiled plans step up to the runway to make her with her first ever catwalk show.

The new additions will join a host of popular London labels including Mary Katrantzou, J.W. Anderson, Antonio Berardi, Erdem and Simone Rocha. Major brands Burberry, Topshop Unique and Anya Hindmarch will also continue to stage major productions.

The announcement of the new schedule comes at the end of a difficult week for British fashion. On Tuesday fashion week stalwart Jonathan Saunders announced that he was to close the label he founded in 2003. Rising star Thomas Tait has also quit the schedule.
