Napoli are turning their attention to Juventus’ Daniele Rugani as they look to bolster their defensive line.
The move comes as the Partenopei seek alternatives, with Juventus’ Danilo being linked as a potential option.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are demanding compensation for Danilo if he were to make the switch to Napoli.
However, the Neapolitan club appears reluctant to meet this demand, particularly given Danilo’s age of 33 and the fact that his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
A source close to the negotiations conveyed, “Napoli are not inclined to recognise any indemnity for Danilo considering his age and contract situation,” as reported by Corriere dello Sport.
This potential snag in the negotiation process has led Napoli to explore other options, with Rugani emerging as a viable alternative.
Both clubs remain in talks as Napoli aim to reinforce their squad ahead of the coming season, while Juventus assess their own tactical and financial position.
