'Kamya Panjabi took Rs 2.5 lakh from Pratyusha Banerjee and pushed her into drinking' Rahul Singh makes shocking claims

Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee's demise was a huge shock. She has been loved for her performance as Anandi in Balika Vadhu and post that she did Bigg Boss 7. She met Kamya Panjabi in Bigg Boss and they became very good friends. Later in 2016, everyone was left shocked when Pratyusha was found dead at her residence. She had committed suicide. Kamya stood by her family and spoke against Pratyusha's ex-boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. After her death, Pratyusha's parents filed a complaint against Rahul Singh. Kamya, Vikas Gupta, Rakhi Sawant and others also supported Pratyusha's family.

Now, nine years after the incident, Rahul Raj Singh has opened up about Pratyusha and Kamya Panjabi. He spoke to Subhojit Ghosh and said that Kamya was the one who started the narrative of Pratyusha's murder and then Vikas, Rakhi came in. He revealed that Vikas Gupta never offered work to Pratyusha Banerjee and made claims like she had no financial burden, she wasn't out of work.

He further said that Kamya had borrowed Rs 2.5 lakh from Pratusha and never repaid it. He also said that Kamya and Pratyusha used to drink a lot and he stopped her from doing this. Pratyusha then stopped going to parties and hence, Rahul became villain for her friends. He accused Kamya of pushing Pratyusha into drinking.

Rahul Raj Singh was booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt). His discharge plea was rejected in a sessions court in Mumbai in 2023.

In his plea, he claimed that he was falsely implicated in the case on account of "personal vendetta". However, the court said that Rahul harassed Pratyusha and hence she landed in depression. Pratyusha's father spoke to ABP and said that it took eight years to start a case and hopes that the truth will come out now.
