Thamma, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, has turned the box office upside down since its release. The horror-comedy, which hit cinemas on October 21st, has gained recognition for the actors' terrific performances, and the novel way it combined horror and humor. It started off really well during Diwali and is now quite close to the Rs 100 crore mark in global box office collection. The collections have gone a bit down during the weekdays but that did not stop it from doing great in overseas markets over the weekend.

Thamma has always been a box-office hit. The latest releases have been quite consistent with the earlier releases in theaters. As per the Sakanilka report, the film made around Rs 0.9 crore in India on its 4th day of screening. So far in India, the film's total revenue has reached Rs 56.5 crore. The film had a total earning of Rs 66.58 crore in India during the first four days and out of that, Diwali contributed Rs 24 crore. After the holidays, the collections did go down, but very marginally, about 25% midweek. The domestic collection on Friday was Rs 9.55 crore net.

In the foreign market, Thamma became a big hit during the weekend. International revenues were weak at first since Diwali was not a public holiday there, but the movie got better with the weekend. By the 4th day, the film had already crossed the around Rs 14.05 crore mark in the overseas market, and analysts predict it could touch even 30 lakh by the end of the 1st weekend.

The story of the film, which is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, centers on the character played by Ayushmann Khurrana who is a reporter caught in the fight for a vampire between the two women characters performed by Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is a film from the Maddock horror-comedy universe where Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya are some of the other films. As a result, the audience gets to see a lot of guest appearances and funny situations.Thamma's humour, visual effects and star cast have caught the attention of both audiences and critics, and the film is becoming one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
