Family Members Of Goodlock Jonathan In Distress
Family members of former President Goodluck Jonathan are in distress over the whereabouts of a cousin of his, Madam Serefina Otazi, who was kidnapped on December 20, 2015.
Kidnapping is common in the Niger Delta region due to the activities of Niger Delta militants
Otazi was reportedly taken hostage at gun-point while travelling from her Otuoke community to Ewoi in Ogbia local government area for a burial event.

The Sun, citing a family member, Endurance Frank, reports the abductors have contacted the family and are demanding that N40 million ransom be paid before they would free her. He said the kidnappers reduced their ransom from N100 million to N40 and are insisting the family must pay the money before she can regain her freedom.

He appealed to the kidnappers to release her unconditionally as the family does not have such amount of money.
He however, heaved a sigh of relief after hearing from the victim as there had been fear that she might have died in their custody.
This is not the firat time family members of the former president will suffer such fate at the hands of kidnappers, earlier in the year, two Goodluck Jonathan’s cousins were been kidnapped unidentified gunmen at Akimpelai, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state.
