BH: Gov Shettima Meets Civilian JTF, You Won’t Believe How Much He Gave Them (PHOTOS)
The governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima met with members of the youth volunteers involved in counter insurgency operations popularly known as ‘Civilian JTF’ over recent attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents in the state.
At the meeting which held yesterday, December 29, at the Multipurpose hall of the government house in Maiduguri, the state capital, Shettima thanked them for their gallant effort, Premium Times reports.

He also applauded them for sacrificing their lives while supporting the armed forces to fight for the restoration of peace in the state.
Shettima said: “We are all eternally indebted to you and we thank you most sincerely for the sacrifices you have made for us to have peace in this part of the world. I want to assure you that once the dust settles down, once this madness is over, we have the herculean task of creating jobs, of engaging the multitude of youths who stood firm and ensure that we have peace in this part of the world.”
The governor unveiled welfare packages for them, announcing a bonus of N20 million naira to the volunteers while directing that any backlog of allowances be paid immediately.

He also directed that a system be put in place by the Ministry of Health which would guarantee free medical attention to all youth volunteers in all public hospitals in the state.
He ordered that more patrol vehicles be supplied to the youth volunteers.
Members of the civilian JTF got N20 million bonus
According to him, the Borno state government would do all in its power to ensure that the volunteers were properly taken care of in terms of payment, equipment and motivation.
Speaking on behalf of the group, their leader, Baba Lawan Jaafar said they were motivated by the governor’s support for them over the years, pledging to keep on supporting the military in the fight against insurgency.

The Borno state governor recently donated 30 vehicles worth N304 million. He said the state government was determined to continue assisting troops in their fight against Boko Haram.
