Hilton: California Does Not Have An Economy That Benefits Regular Working People

California GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why Governor Gavin Newsom will have to face a lot of tough questions about his tenure leading the Golden State should he decide to launch a 2028 presidential bid.

“For the last 10 years, California has been 50th out of 50 states for business climate. So my argument is when I get in there as governor and I get rid of all the insane regulations and taxes, yeah, we’ll lift all that burden, we will be the third biggest. But here’s the other point, the deep point about this, which is this economy that he brags about, which has nothing to do with him, despite of him, it doesn’t even help regular people. It’s an economy where the rich get richer, regular working people get screwed. So as well as the fourth biggest economy, we also have today the highest unemployment rate in America and the highest poverty rate in America. So this is not an economy that works for people. That’s why and everything you look at gas prices, housing costs, mortgage, rent, whatever it is, electric, water, insurance, everything is the most expensive in the country and we pay the highest taxes. He’s a total failure. I have this little thing I do on the on the road. I talk about you know President Trump ran as MAGA. Newsom’s going to run as MUGA, the most useless governor in America. It fits on the hat, it’s perfect. And then I think actually, that doesn’t do justice to it. I just wonder whether given that he’s literally made California 50 out of 50 on absolutely everything, I mean, we haven’t even talked to, you know, on the school results, the third grade reading with the worst, homelessness, whatever. Is he the most useless governor in American history, being able to pull this off, the worst on everything all at the same time? It’s kind of an amazing achievement.”
