Cheers and Jeers: 2015 Flashback, Part II
From the GREAT STATE OF MAINE...
Yesterday we recapped the first four months of 2015. This morning we dispense with the middle third of the year.
During those 123 days we saw growing employment numbers, 197 Republicans announcing their bids to become president, turmoil (the good kind) at the Netroots Nation convention in Phoenix, teabaggers’ heads popping off their necks as President Obama travels to Kenya, the Supreme Court giving thumbs up to fair housing, marriage rights for same-sex couples and (again) the ACA, and President Barack “Blood ‘n Guts” Obama conquering the republic of Texas in the Jade Helm-15 campaign. As a nation, we continued to be the land of the free and the home of the senseless yet preventable gun death. On the bright side, there was only one lawn dart fatality. (To the relatives of the old lady across the street: I am so sorry.)
Below the fold is the second of our three-part series called, 2015: What A Bunch of Jiggery-Pokery. We've rounded up some of White House shutterbug Pete Souza's great pics, plus amazing stats, late-night snark and newsy bits from May through August. Your wormhole to the past opens up again below the fold... [Swoosh!!] Right now! [Gong!!]
