Villa Visit: APC, PDP In Renewed Clash
The APC has accused Governor Seriake Dickson of trying to lobby President Muhammadu Buhari over the January 9 rerun election.
The visit which comes barely 10 days to the rescheduled governorship poll in the state has ignited a feud between the parties, with the APC describing the visit as a desperate bid by Dickson to influence the January 9 rerun election through the backdoor.

According to Punch, the APC in a statement on Wednesday, December 30, by the director, media and publicity, Sylva-Igiri campaign organisation, Chief Nathan Egba, accused Dickson of trying to lobby President Muhammadu Buhari over the January 9 rerun election.
Egba said: “Governor Seriake Dickson is quite unsettled ahead of the January 9, 2016 rerun election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, which is a stronghold of the APC and he is now looking for a soft-landing after the eventual loss of the governorship seat.”
The party said it was glad that President Buhari did not grant Governor Dickson audience.
In response, the director of publicity, restoration campaign organisation of the PDP, Jonathan Obuebite, dismissed APC’s accusation against Dickson as “lies and figment of the imagination” of the opposition.

It faulted the APC narrative of Dickson’s visit to President Buhari as nothing but propaganda and recurring lies.
Obuebite said: “The APC has lost and they know it. No amount of propaganda and blackmail will return them as winners. They have been roundly rejected by the people and we truly sympathise with them because the APC is finished in Bayelsa State.”
Meanwhile, the political arena in Bayelsa state is thickening ahead of the January 9, 2016 rerun governorship poll in the state.
The PDP and the APC are at loggerheads over an alleged plot to rig the upcoming election. While the PDP have raised alarm over alleged plans by the APC to rig the election, the APC in turn claims Governor Seriake Dickson and his PDP agents have started bringing in thugs into the state ahead of the rerun in Southern Ijaw and other polling units in six LGAs.
