Gammanpila feels sorry for former comrade in arms

The taking over of the Health Ministry and other subjects by the Western Province Chief Minister is totally legal and in full compliance with Section 154 of the Sri Lankan Constitution, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya Leader and MP Udaya Gammanpila said. Addressing the media in Colombo yesterday he said that according to the Constitution, all powers are vested with the Chief Minister of the Province in connection with deciding who holds which ministry in the Provincial Council. Therefore there is no legal issue in connection with taking over the ministry.
