Demand is on the New Year's Eve menu in Times Square

Going out on New Year's Eve is always expensive.

But going out in Times Square in New York City ... crazy.

According to the New York Post, a meal at Olive Garden in Times Square will set you back $400 per person. And that doesn't guarantee you a view of the ball drop. Or breadsticks.

You'll pay about $800 each to eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp; $449 at The Counter for mini burgers and fries.

It's supply and demand in action, I guess.

But, I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do with a thousand dollars than eat salmon and pasta at Buca di Beppo with my significant other.
