It has been observed that most of the bombings in the country are carried out by bombers clad in the Muslim traditional covering called Hijab. Answering questions on the recurring sad terrorist attacks happening in the country, the president said:
“When I say BokoHaram had been defeated technically, we have weakened capacity for conventional attacks. Banning Hijab is not an option, but if these attacks continues, Hijab has to be banned.”
The president’s verdict on hijab being banned has however generated reactions on social media. See some reactions below:
Those who tried to paint PMB as an Islamic extremist before the election must feel really stupid after the Hijab ban statement #PMBMediaChat
The President was straight forward about the Hijab response, also works better seeing as he’s a muslim. #PresidentialMediaChat — Khaleesi!!! (@AbangMercy) December 30, 2015
Even a decade and a half later debates about terrorism still end up flowing into discussions about hijab & other basically unrelated things. — Murtaza Hussain (@MazMHussain) December 30, 2015
#askbuhari. Sir I don’t think banning of hijab will solve boko harram.hijab is compulsory on Muslim according to quran 33vs59
If hijab is banned… Will police uniform also be banned, Due to armed robbers using it?? #AskBuhari@channelstv — Abdulshakur Elgud (@TheProxyGenius) December 30, 2015
So after the hijab is banned, will handbags and vehicles also be banned cos these have also been means to the evil act? #Askbuhari

AskBuhari If you must ban hijab, then you must ban military uniform and guns bcos terrorists used these too as camouflage to attack.
