ARF Student Union  protest outside EU Delegation in Yerevan

ArmInfo. The ARF  Nikol Aghbalyan Student Union held a protest outside the EU Delegation in Yerevan, calling for attention to be paid to the issue of political prisoners in the country.


Demonstrators arrived at the EU Delegation with photos of those they consider political prisoners and chanting "Freedom!" The banners featured photos of Samvel Karapetyan, head of the Tashir companies; Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the "Sacred Struggle" movement, along with 16 supporters of the movement; Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, head of the Shirak Diocese; Archbishop Mkrtich Proshyan, head of the Aragatsotn Diocese; Vardan Ghukasyan and David Hambardzumyan, mayors of Gyumri and Masis; and others.


The demonstrators urged the EU to respond to the violation of universal human rights in Armenia and promote justice without being selective. The demonstrators also attached "For Rent!" signs to the representative office building, pointing out that the EU has forgotten its mission in Armenia and is ignoring human rights violations in the country.
