ITHACA – Four seasons, hundreds of practices, and thousands of shots. Libby Maurer’s 1,000th point didn’t come from one big night- it came from staying the course. In Ithaca’s game against Beal City on Jan. 12, Maurer etched her name in the record books, becoming the fifth player in Ithaca girls basketball to score 1,000 points. “It was definitely just a very stressful game,” Maurer said. “I honestly wanted to cry the whole time because I went 12-for-24 on free throws and even airballed one.
