After months of anticipation, President Trump has finally announced who he’d like to see lead the Federal Reserve, nominating Kevin Warsh to replace Chairman Jerome Powell.
Powell, whose term ends this May, has been a frequent target of the President’s criticism for not cutting interest rates more aggressively.
Warsh–a former Fed Governor and current business professor at Stanford University–was frequently cited by Fox Business as a leading potential replacement. He has also previously called for “regime change” at the Fed.
