Hayyaqve accuses Armenian authorities of bribing voters

"The leader of the ruling regime announced today that pensions are finally expected to increase on April 1.
The Hayyaqve Union notes that its six-month, consistent campaign for pension increases has yielded initial results, albeit very partial. Increasing pensions to 10,000 drams is by no means the target we are proposing. It is clear that by cutting unnecessary government spending, pensions can be significantly increased and the lives of our elderly compatriots can be significantly improved," the statement reads.
On the other hand, the authors of the document emphasize, it is clear that this desperate move by the regime-the pre-election bribery of the most socially vulnerable group-pensioners-just two months before the elections, pursues only one goal: to maintain the regime's perpetuation.
"The Union firmly adheres to its commitment to increasing pensions by at least 50% and does not view this half-hearted step by the administration as a systemic solution. As before, we will seek to improve the standard of living of our half a million compatriot pensioners, as well as the removal of this anti-national and fraudulent administration from power," the statement reads.
As a reminder, on the morning of February 25, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in a video address that pensions would increase starting April 1. According to him, relatively low pensions will increase by 10,000 drams, while higher pensions will increase by a smaller amount. He noted that, taking into account cashback, the increase will be higher. This, according to the Prime Minister, was achieved thanks to high economic growth in 2025, which turned out to be greater than predicted.
