Iran`s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has been assassinated

ArmInfo. Iranian state television confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a result of US and Israeli airstrikes.

"Iran's Supreme Leader has been martyred," state television IRIB reported on Sunday morning.

According to Fars, Khamenei died at his workplace.

The state news agency IRNA, for its part, reported that Iran has declared a 40-day mourning period in connection with Khamenei's death. The country has also declared a seven-day holiday.

Among the dead also were the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdolrahim Mousavi, as well as the Secretary of the Iranian Defense Council, Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Mohammad Pakpour, and the head of the Iranian Ministry of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh.
