It started as an experiment. The year was 1993 and the fledgling Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin was looking for a way to increase its profile and its fundraising. What if, NRF staff thought, we started a program of outings in the Wisconsin outdoors? What if they were led by experts who shared their knowledge and a unique experience with the public? How much would it help us toward our goals? Thirty-three years later there are no more questions: the idea was solid gold.
