Catholicos of All Armenians not to be able attend funeral of Ilia II

ArmInfo. Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will not be able to attend the funeral of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, despite having received a special invitation. This was reported by lawyer Ara Zohrabyan.


He noted that the investigator rejected the motion to lift the preventive punishment imposed on the Catholicos of All Armenians, emphasizing that this is "yet another violation of the law that damages the country's reputation."


It should be noted that the Catholicos of All Armenians is a defendant. He is accused of obstructing the execution of a court order requiring the reinstatement of Arman Saroyan as Primate of the Masyatsotn Diocese.


His Holiness has been placed under a preventive restraining order.
