Narendra Giri takes charge as new chief of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad

Mahant Gyan Das, the embattled chief of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, was on Saturday officially replaced as chief of the apex governing body of Akharas by Mahant Narendra Giri. While the electoral process replacing Gyan Das was conducted a year ago, the controversial Mahant had refused to cede ground to Mahant Narendra Giri.
