Two held for raping teen at dump site
Two men were arrested on a North West street after a 17-year-old girl identified them to police as the men who allegedly raped her.
|||Rustenburg – A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped at dumping site in Sondela informal settlement near Rustenburg, North West police said on Monday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Kealeboga Molale said the girl was allegedly raped by two men, aged 22 and 29, on Sunday morning at around 5am.
“According to the information, the victim was at a local tavern with her friends and she went outside to talk with one of her friends. While talking to her friend, the suspects came and pointed the victim with a firearm. The two took her to a dumping site where she was assaulted and they took turns in raping her.”
She said the girl went to report the case to the local police and was taken to the hospital.
“On her way back from the hospital with the police they met the two suspects and they were arrested. They will appear in Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday. Investigation into the matter continues.”
