The number of police calls to the Clareview recreation centre in north Edmonton has decreased 50 per cent since the facility boosted security. A report commissioned by Coun. Mike Nickel shows that as of June 7, police received 548 dispatch calls to recreation centres this year. In 2014, police were dispatched to recreation centres 494 times over the entire year. Most calls were related to thefts.
