Thousands of Edmontonians lined Jasper Avenue for a “glimpse of the romance and colour of life on the prairies 50 years ago,” the Journal reported. Almost 1,000 aboriginals from reserves at Lac Ste. Anne, Hobbema, Winterburn and Wabamun paraded in a splendid display of paint and feathers and beaded clothes, behind Millar’s Pipe Band.
