Artsakh president: no document on Artsakh status being discussed now
YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Araik Harutyunyan, who has arrived in Yerevan today for political consultations with the Armenian authorities said after attending a meeting of Armenian Security Council chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that at this stage no document concerning the status of Artsakh is under discussion.
‘I conveyed the concerns of the people of Artsakh to Armenia's authorities and emphasized that no document can prevail over the right and aspirations of our people to live a free and sovereign life," Harutyunyan wrote in a Facebook post.
According to the Artsakh President, the Armenian authorities have confirmed that no document related to Artsakh will be signed without discussions with the Artsakh authorities and without taking into account the opinion of its people.
Harutyunyan said an Artsakh National Assembly delegation, which is also in Yerevan, will continue political consultations with the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Speaker of the National Assembly and other top officials.
The Security Council meeting discussed the situation resulting from Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia's sovereign territory and the steps to protect the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. -0-
