About 200 houses damaged in Armenia’s 3 provinces by Azerbaijani shelling

YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. Some 192 houses have been damaged as a result of Azerbaijani shelling in three Armenian regions of Gegharkunik, Syunik and Vayots Dzor on September 13 and 14, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan said at a press conference today.

According to him, administrative buildings, auxiliary premises, agricultural structures and guesthouses have also been damaged in addition to vehicles, ambulances and some roads have been blocked.

"There were power outages in a number of areas, which were quickly eliminated. There are still problems with electricity in Nerkin Shorzha village," said Deputy Minister.

According to him, the inventory of damage is being done with provincial administrations monitoring the situation and coordinating the efforts for infrastructure restoration.

Earlier, Armenia’s Human Rights Defender said that 2,750 inhabitants of some communities in three regions bordering with Azerbaijan were evacuated as a result of the aggression. Four civilians were wounded by Azerbaijani shelling.

Around midnight on September 13, the armed forces of Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack in the southern and southeastern directions of the Republic of Armenia, encroaching on the territorial integrity of Armenia. The aggression was carried out with the use of artillery, mortars and UAVs, including not only in the Armenia-Azerbaijan bordering area, but also in the areas of Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish and Ishkhanasar settlements and their civilian infrastructure of Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions.
