The Global Armenian Summit, organized by the Office of the Chief Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has kicked off in Yerevan.
YEREVAN, October 29. /ARKA/. The Global Armenian Summit, organized by the Office of the Chief Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has kicked off in Yerevan.
According to the government, the summit is aimed at strengthening Armenia and the Diaspora through the establishment and institutionalization of mutually beneficial policies and programs, as well as the creation of innovative and effective institutional frameworks for strengthening and expanding Armenia-Diaspora relations.
The summit is an opportunity to identify priorities, establish approaches to the common pan-Armenian agenda and create a strategic roadmap for future cooperation, said the Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zare Sinanyan to reporters.
According to him, strategic goal is to identify the issues that concern all Armenians and understand who should play what role (in solving them).
'I don't think we will get answers to all our questions, because they are very deep and complicated, but they need to be discussed," he said.
Sinanyan stressed that the organizers are ready for any effective formats, including the signing of memorandums.
"We will also have investment panels to discuss economic involvement and other problems existing in Armenia," he said.
The summit has brought together about 600 participants from 50 countries, including France, China, Brazil, Russia, Great Britain, the United States, Australia, Syria, Argentina, Canada. The participants represent various spheres of activity in their communities.
More than 100 speakers from 15 countries will speak at the gathering, and 10 panel discussions, 15 sessions and 2 free format meetings will be held. -0-
