Gross output of Armenia's agriculture, forestry and fisheries increases by 4.3% in first half of 2024

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Gross output of Armenia's agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the first half of 2024 amounted to more than 311.2 billion drams in current prices, increasing by 4.3% compared to the same period in 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee (NSC)./pp
During the reporting period, the volume of production in the agricultural sector increased by 4% and amounted to about 286 billion drams./pp
In particular, the volume of livestock farming amounted to more than 168.2 billion drams, increasing by 0.1% compared to the first half of last year, while crop production increased by almost 11% and amounted to 117.6 billion drams./pp
In the first six months of the current year, 38 thousand tons of meat of farm animals and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) were sold with a yoy increase of 6.1%. Also 3,600 tons of milk were produced (a decrease of 3.6%) as well as 397.4 million eggs (a decrease of 5.5%)./pp
During the reporting period, 2,500 tons of grain and leguminous crops were grown (a decrease of 10.7%), 43,200 tons of potatoes (a decrease of 1.6%) and 99,200 tons of vegetables (an increase of 25.7%)./pp
In forestry, the volume of gross output in January-June amounted to 989.7 million drams (an increase of 7.1%), and in fisheries – to 24.5 billion (an increase of 7.2%). ($1 - 388.21 drams) -0-/p
