Hockey club Edmonton Oilers defeated the Minnesota Wild in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported on January 16 on the website of the NHL.

The game ended with a score of 5:3. Goals for the team "Edmonton Oilers" scored Matthew Boldy, Marco Rossi and Ryan Hartman. In turn, Connor McDavid made a double in the opponents' goal. Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Russian forward Vasily Podkolzin scored one puck each from the Edmonton Oilers.

"It was a good game. They played well. They looked good, and so did we. It was a pretty wild game," noted player Calvin Pickard of the winning team.

Earlier, on January 15, the Yekaterinburg hockey club Avtomobilist defeated Spartak Moscow in an away match of the regular championship of the Fonbet - Continental Hockey League. The meeting ended with a score of 3:2.
