"VK video" surpassed YouTube in the number of users per day during the New Year holidays

The VK Video service overtook the YouTube video hosting service in terms of the number of daily users during the New Year holidays. This is evidenced by the data of Mediascope.

"The number of daily users of video hosting popular in Russia on New Year holidays (29.12.2024-08.01.2025): "VK video" - 41 million people, YouTube - 33 million people," TASS quoted the material on January 16.

The peak number of users of "VK video" reached 42 million on January 8. In third place in the number of daily visitors is Rutube.

January 15, it became known that "VKontakte" in December 2024 for the first time overtook YouTube in terms of coverage among Russians. Monthly coverage of the social network amounted to almost 92 million users.

Attendance of video hosting for the year decreased by 6%, with the largest coverage of YouTube for a month in 2024 was recorded in March - more than 96 million users, in "VKontakte" at that time recorded 90 million.
