In Krasnoyarsk, a boxing coach of a local sports club was detained on suspicion of organizing a criminal association that stole cars in Khabarovsk in the 2000s. This was reported on January 16 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

It is noted that the man was on a federal wanted list for 13 years. According to investigators, the criminals used a scanner to disable the security alarm system, and then started the engine and drove the stolen car to the sump.

"The vehicles were returned to the victims for a cash ransom or realized them after changing the identification numbers of vehicle aggregates," Volk noted in her Telegram channel.

The suspect led the structure of the criminal organization, and his two assistants ensured its smooth functioning.

The criminal case on the crimes of the gang has 51 volumes. During the investigation 24 episodes of vehicle theft were established. 31 people have been recognized as victims. The total amount of damage exceeds 5.5 million rubles.

It is indicated that the remaining participants in the case of hijacking have already been sentenced in 2012.

Earlier, January 4, Moscow police detained a gang, which was engaged in car theft. The attackers were engaged in theft of cars of Korean and Japanese production. It is specified that the damage caused by the attackers amounted to about 43 million rubles. All detainees have convictions for property crimes.
