New York Islanders forward Mathew Barzal will be a healthy scratch for Thursday's road game against the Carolina Hurricanes, coach Patrick Roy announced.

Barzal arrived late for Thursday'a morning skate in Raleigh, N.C., Roy said, and will return to the lineup on Friday when New York visits the Washington Capitals.
