US sanctions groups in Iran, Russia over election interference
WASHINGTON, D.C.: Accusing entities in Iran and Russia of attempting to interfere in the 2024 U.S. election, the United States this week imposed sanctions on them.
The U.S. Treasury said that two groups-a part of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and an organization linked to Russia's military intelligence (GRU)-tried to stir up political tensions and influence voters in the 2024 U.S. election.
