August 13, 2023 Update
We have to move and we need help.
BikeAthens has been forced to move, after seven years in our current location at 1075 W Broad Street, due to circumstances beyond our control. We have a prospective place to land that, if it works out, will be an incredibly cool move for us.
To make this work, we need more monthly donors to close at least a $2,000 monthly revenue gap for rent. We will also need a short-term boost of at least $5,000 to make the new space operable.
And, very soon, we will need many volunteers to help with the move.
If you’re one of our donors, thank you. Please consider an increase to your monthly or annual contribution. If you usually give at the end of the year, please consider an early donation if you can.
If you’re not a donor and you’d like to help us out, please visit bikeathens.org/give. We use a donor platform called Givebutter that allows you to set up monthly or one-time payments with a card, Venmo, or PayPal, whichever you prefer. Thank you for helping us serve this community, and we appreciate any dollar amount you can give.
We will post weekly updates if not more frequently on social media and at this location. Stay tuned for more about volunteer needs.
Again, thank you for you support as we work to build equity in transportation through service, advocacy, and education.
Most shop activities are temporarily suspended.
In order to focus on this challenge, we are sorry to say that we must suspend the following activities until further notice:
- Thursday Fix Your Own Bike (FYOB)
- Walk-in repair service
- Walk-in sales – please call or text for an appointment to buy one of our sale bikes.
- Donation drop-offs – please take all bike donations to the ACC CHaRM.
