Kangana Ranaut, in an interview with the Times of India, expressed her concerns about the content on various OTT platforms and her desire for stricter censorship rules. The Queen actress pointed out that more and more people are watching violent and disturbing shows, how women are objectified in them, and how it's impacting real society.
Kangana told the entertainment news portal that the content on these platforms has become much more violent and disturbing, especially since people watch it alone with headphones on. Kangana also stated that online shows, even those on YouTube, should be censored, as many other countries have already implemented such measures and are doing better than India in this regard. The actress further expressed concern about the worrying cases happening in India, which she feels is quite alarming.
In the same interview, the Manikarnika actress also spoke about feminism, warning against a cultural shift that might impact women's inherent qualities. The actress said that it's important not to push feminism to a point where it becomes harmful and starts making women more like men, taking away their femininity and their birthright to be admired, nurtured, loved, and protected. Ranaut stressed how people tend to go to extremes, so it shouldn't make the culture toxic.
