The co-stars were rumoured to be dating when a picture of them from a trip to Vietnam surfaced on social media. The photo showed Do Hoon with a woman, who was suspected to be Kim Yoo Jung. The woman was seen wearing a mask and carrying a green bag with her, which was something similar to what the My Demon actress was seen carrying in one of the pictures she posted earlier this year.

During a promotional press conference for the upcoming TVING original series on Thursday, October 30, in Seoul, cast members Kim Yoo Jung, Kim Young Dae, Kim Do Hoon, Lee Yeol Eum, and director Lee Eung Bok opened up about the dating rumours. Kim Yoo Jung addressed the rumours, and as quoted by AllKpop, said, "Right after the articles were published, I called Kim Do Hoon. We spent about three minutes laughing nonstop as soon as we spoke." She mentioned that she even shared a good laugh with the show's director, Lee Eung Bok. "From our perspective, this shows how much attention people are giving us, and I hope the project does well," she added.

Adding more comedy to the situation, the director mentioned, "I'm willing to provide a few more photos. I've secured a few shots." Meanwhile, Yoo Jung and Do Hoon's co-star Kim Young Dae, who was absent from the trip which sparked the rumours, shared, "I honestly didn't know anything. I couldn't be there. I asked sincerely whether it was real or fake, and when I called, they said it wasn't true." Actress Lee Yeol Eum mentioned that she, too, had a good laugh with Yoo Jung about the rumours, saying, "I couldn't go either, but we coordinated plans in our group chat. I knew what day it was and how things went, so I later chatted with Yoo Jung. Seeing that part appear in the news made me laugh."

Back when the dating rumours had surfaced, Yoo Jung's agency quickly addressed the rumours. They stated, "After finishing the filming of the drama Dear X, the cast and staff, including the director, went on a team MT (membership training) trip. The photo in question was taken during that trip. The dating rumours are not true."
