Shah Rukh Khan to return as G.One? Actor hints at Ra.One sequel on his...

When Ra.One was released in 2011; it was a new experience for Bollywood. A film that seamlessly blended video games, science fiction, and Indian family sentiments. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Arjun Rampal, the film was ahead of its time. For some, it proved to be a cultural reset as it marked the first time Indian cinema had combined visual effects and technology on such a grand scale. Now, more than a decade later, Shah Rukh Khan, on his 60th birthday, hinted that a Ra.One sequel could be coming soon.

Shah Rukh Khan to return as G.One?

At a special fan meet in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan said, "Because it was a new kind of film, and it was very close to my heart. Anubhav (the director) worked really hard to make it. So I was expecting it to start a new trend." Shah Rukh Khan further added that if a film like Raavan were released today, people would have liked it even more. He said, "I always feel that if I make a film since my position is so good, and I've really been gifted by God to be in this position then I should make things that inspire others to make such films too. Because it's very important for our country. I thought that when I make Ra.One, everyone would say, 'It's a superhero film!' Not just a superhero one, but it was also about visual effects. Studios would come here, a lot of things would change. So yes, it didn't quite live up to those expectations. But as a film, it did very well. I think people loved it even then."

Finally, King Khan hinted that if director Anubhav Sinha wanted to remake the story, he would be willing to return as G.One. "So yes, if Anubhav ever decides to because he's the one who made it, and I think only he can make it again. We worked really hard on it. And God willing, if the time ever feels right, we might do it again. It's easier now anyway," he said with a smile.

All about Shah Rukh's 60th birthday

Shah Rukh's 60th birthday was celebrated at the Bal Gandharva Rangmandir auditorium in Bandra, where he met over 300 fans, cut a three-layer cake decorated with a golden crown, and celebrated with his manager, Pooja Dadlani (who shares his birthday). The day was nothing less than a scene from a movie.
