120 Bahadur: Farhan Akhtar's WAR drama to have special previews on THIS date; all you need to know

Farhan Akhtar's upcoming war-based film 120 Bahadur is set to release on November 21st. But there's a special surprise for audiences, two days before the film's release, it will be shown in paid previews for a select group. On November 18, the film team decided to hold a special screening to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Battle of Rezang La, the historic battle fought during the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

Is 120 Bahadur based on a real life story?

According to India Today, 120 Bahadur depicts the bravery of 120 Indian soldiers from the 13th Kumaon Regiment who displayed indomitable courage in the Battle of Rezang La. Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC the brave officer who, along with his men, never gave up in the face of a seemingly impossible challenge. The film is entirely based on the sacrifice, courage, and patriotism of the soldiers who made this battle an inspiring chapter in Indian history.

During an interview, when Farhan was asked if the film focused solely on Major Shaitan Singh and neglected the other 120 soldiers, he bluntly stated, "Sir, my answer has always been that if I just wanted to make a film on Major Shaitan Singh Bhati PVC, then I would have kept the title Shaitan Singh. That would have been the easiest thing. There wouldn't have been any controversy. Everyone would have said that a film is being made on Shaitan Singh Ji PVC. But this film is about the whole company. That's why we have named it 120 Bahadur. Because the contribution of the rest of the people in winning that battle was just as much as theirs."

The film is directed by Razneesh 'Raji' Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandra (Trigger Happy Studios). '120 Bahadur' has been made on a grand scale to accurately capture the pride and emotions of that historic battle. The film will release in theatres on November 21, 2025 and before that, audiences will be able to enjoy its special paid previews on November 18.
