Nokia reports double-digit Q2 profit drop, expects better second half

Wireless and fixed-network equipment maker Nokia Thursday reported a double-digit fall in profit and sales in the second quarter due to a continuing weak market as clients are holding off investments in 5G technology. The Espoo, Finland-based company reported a net profit of 328 million euros (USD 359 million) for the April-June period, down 20 per cent from 409 million euros (USD 447 million) a year earlier. Toshiba Group to invest 10 bn Japanese yen in India to increase capacity

Toshiba Group on Thursday said it will invest 10 billion Japanese yen (over Rs 500 crore) to increase the capacity of producing power transmission and distribution equipment in India. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy reports Rs 4.8 cr profit in Q1 profits

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd on Thursday posted a net profit of Rs 4.83 crore for the June quarter. It had clocked a net loss of Rs 95.32 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing. The company's total income rose to Rs 927.89 crore from Rs 522.35 crore in the same quarter a year ago. The expenses stood at Rs 913.23 crore during the quarter as against Rs 617.68 a year earlier. Polycab India Q1 results: Net profit falls marginally to Rs 401.62 cr

Wires and cables maker Polycab India Ltd on Thursday reported a marginal decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 401.62 crore in the June 2024 quarter, impacted by higher expenses. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 403.16 crore in the same period last fiscal, Polycab India said in a regulatory filing. Capitalmind to launch Rs 500 cr in maiden AIF, to invest in 20-40 stock

Investment manager Capitalmind Financial Services on Thursday said it aims to raise Rs 500 crore in its maiden alternate investment fund over the next year. The company has been in the portfolio management services space and currently, boasts Rs 2,200 crore assets under management, its founder and chief executive officer Deepak Shenoy said.
