Dhruv Jurel is the cricketer who has received the most attention following the fourth India vs England Test. In only his second Test, Dhruv Jurel demonstrated incredible maturity in guiding the Indian cricket team out of a difficult situation. With the team in danger in the first innings, Dhruv Jurel hit 90 to ensure India did not lose a large advantage against the visitors. Then, in the second innings, he went unbeaten on 39 to lead the Rohit Sharma-led hosts to victory and secure the series win.
Rohit Sharma, the Indian cricket team captain, was effusive in his appreciation for Dhuv Jurel and the other young players on the team. “At the moment, I don’t see anyone who doesn’t have that hunger: everyone on the squad, including those who aren’t, wants to play. However, opportunities at this level are quite rare. If you do not take advantage of the opportunity, you will lose it. That’s something we’ve all experienced. So those players who take advantage of opportunities, help the team win, and perform for the team are obviously recognised. “That is extremely important,” Rohit Sharma stated.

England captain Ben Stokes offered an intriguing complement to Dhruv Jurel.
“He performed admirably in both innings. His keeping was also worth watching; I believe Ben Foakes has a little man crush on him,” Ben Stokes told ESPNCricinfo.
Jurel, who helped the hosts win a nail-biting run chase, claimed he has adapted his approach to fit the situation while also thanking his batting partners for their support. He also stated that playing against a powerful English attack, which included old warhorses James Anderson and Mark Wood, was an excellent learning experience.
He stated that he saw some of the English legends on television during his formative years in cricket.
I want to adapt my game to whatever the situation requires. During our first innings, I believed that the more I scored, the smaller our deficit with England and the fewer runs we would have to chase in the second innings. We lost a lot of wickets early in the first innings, so I had to bat with the tail-enders. Thankfully, I formed a connection with the lower-order batters. Jurel also praised the tail-enders for their willingness to hang out with him.
On facing Anderson and Wood in the third Test, he stated, “It felt wonderful to play against them since I had seen them on TV.
The concept was to play the ball rather than the bowler. Gill and I were having mid-pitch chats about completing minor objectives, like approaching the chase in groups of ten runs apiece.”
Jurel had a bright start to his red-ball career, scoring a brave 46 in his debut Test at Rajkot but was unlucky not to reach 50.
In the second Test, he also missed out on his maiden tonne, but gave the selectors a happy headache with match-turning skills with the willow across both innings.
