A decent multitool can be the difference between riding home, a long walk in cleated shoes, an expensive taxi ride or a grovelling phone call to your other half. Unior are the tool sponsors of Team Ineos so, with team boss Dave Brailsfords insistence for the highest quality, its a good endorsement. Offering Hex wrenches from 2-8mm, 10 and 25mm TX wrenches, a PH1 and flat-head screwdrivers, a chain tool, a valve tool and a spoke key, it packs a hell of a lot into a 167g package. Its not too bulky either, slipping neatly into a jersey pocket and fitting comfortably into your hand during use. Features aside, its only when you come to use a multitool that you discover how good it is. Cheap ones can have hex key heads that appear to be made of cheese, annoyingly rounding off and not engaging with bolts. This isnt the case with the Unior as black oxide coated tips engage positively and, after a fair amount of both trail and roadside tinkering, are showing no signs of wear.
