ExpandMore than 100 shelter pets rescued from the recent Palisades and Eaton fires in Los Angeles are officially en route to Oregon — in hopes of finding new homes.
The pets boarded a Southwest Airlines flight in Long Beach on Saturday, Feb. 2, as part of a partnership between the airline and Greater Good Charities.
Greater Good Charities is a nonprofit based in Washington state that helps provide disaster relief and other programs to people and pets in need around the country, according to its website.
The pets flew out of Long Beach Airport on their way to Portland to find new homes after being displaced by the fires.
