Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that incentives totaling Rs 9,721 crore have been claimed under the PLI scheme for nine sectors, including electronics manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. An actual investment of Rs 1.23 lakh crore has been realized till March 2024, leading to incremental production or sales of over Rs 10.31 lakh crore and the generation of approximately 8 lakh jobs.

17,625 posts vacant in Food & Consumer Affairs Ministry: Government

As many as 17,625 posts are vacant under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. There was no re-employment of retired personnel in the last five years, according to Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya. In 2014, there were 45,915 permanent and 19 temporary posts, which increased to 48,555 permanent and 8 temporary posts in 2024 across various institutions, agencies, and autonomous bodies.

The large non-bank PSOs need to abide by the directions by April 1, 2025. These include Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Bharat Bill Payment Operating Units (BBPOUs), and Payment Aggregators (PAs), Non-bank ATM Networks, White Label ATM Operators (WLAOs), Large PPI Issuers, and Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), among others.
