The Central Information Commission (CIC) has criticised the Election Commission (EC) for not responding to an RTI plea regarding actions taken on a representation by eminent citizens questioning the credibility of EVMs and VVPAT machines. Former IAS officer M G Devasahayam filed the RTI application and approached the CIC after no response from the EC. CIC expressed severe displeasure and directed the EC to provide a written explanation within 30 days.
